What on earth is a scribe? To me that is someone who wrote down something said in old times, and passed it on! I think of the bible. Most of the 4 gospels were written well over 100 years past the date of Jesus's death. In today's world becoming a scribe, or holding yourself out as a scribe, is appropriate to certain fields where notes have to be taken on every transaction, or service; think Doctors, of even my own profession, which is financial. Just had a brainstorm, as relates to my previous post. Go into business by helping other's find the best value in auto repair. Sell subscriptions, or a newsletter. For instance in my area, there are 3 Porsche repair locations. One has a a 2 month backlog. Tough to get in. Yet a local oil changer was able to change a complex coolant hose for me yesterday on my 924S. I might give the latter a 'willing to try' rating! I can see a huge possibility here....

Mobile Auto Mechanic

Years ago I lived at Hilton Head, SC, a major resort. There was a guy down there that had a mobile mechanic business for auto repair for German vehicles only. There were many Mercedes BMWs and VWs on that island at all time, far away from home, so this guy id'd a need and filled it! Fast forward years later he ended up with a Mercedes Benz franchise on the island. I think one of the greatest opportunities to day is in auto repair. Yes you have to go to school for it. I had a Mexican friend once that could fix any car. He helped me restore one of my Porsches. Then I bought a Lincoln Navigator. Lots of electrical problems. Needed coils changed. No one could do it, not even the Ford place. My friend fixed the problem on each coil in less than 20 minutes. At my home! Never start a sentence with the word 'at'! lol! I am seeing numerous ads for so called mobile mechanics on Craigslist, but they have no certification or insurance for the most part. Yet this is one of the biggest opportunities out there, the mobile auto technician. I am looking into organizing this idea to a greater degree, to create a framework for these techs to operate in. Remember in all we do we want to make someone's life or day better, or happier!

Your survival depends on cash flow, so you need to keep a clear head! One can get really distracted by too much news or talk radio! When times are tough it's easy to listen to extreme voices out there.....if you listened to the rhetoric of today....you would think you lived in an evil country full of hate and crime, all because of a do nothing congress! Nothing could be further than the truth-if you want to read about problems go back to the 1920s or 1930s and look at all the problems we had as a nation, plus we had no cell phones or internet! Turn off the news ! Turn off talk radio! Do something!!!

Some basic assumptions-you are 18 or over. Another assumption is that if you start a business you will keep good records at all times and decide from the beginning how you will structure the business, and that you will find out how to do your tax reporting! Most people will choose to operate as a sole proprietorship. And flea markets may require you to have a license of some sort, and you will need to collect sales tax! Remember the tax people at best are like the Gestapo and at worst like the SS. My blog is about the generalities of creating your own job, not every detail.

If you are following my thread here, you have just had a successful outing at the flea market and sold 12 units at $6. Now you want to go back to the flea market but want to invest the money you made at your first sale in more inventory! Go back to the Goodwill store and buy more items. Or-in the meantime you were surfing the internet and found a cool website, with wholesale lingerie. You peruse this website and find they sell cool stuff at a deep wholesale price. You buy some units from this website, plus you travel back to the Goodwill store and buy more handbags and shoes. And more cookies! Your next sale at the flea market is going to have more diversity.

Seed money-say you have no money, but a lot of junk! Used books, toys, computers, anything....clutter. Clear the clutter, have a garage sale!!!!! Then you may have what is called 'seed' money! Ok, you have had a successful garage sale! Yay! You made a gross of $100! Say you are a girl, and now you have that extra $100- you stop by your local GOODWILL store and see womens purses and handbags, or shoes, for sale for say $3 each. Nice ones. You can buy 20 units and have $40 leftover so on the way home you can have a nice fresco taco at Taco Bell for a $1!!!! Ok so now you have 20 units of women's fashion items on hand. You are in business! Sidebar-savor the feeling you are having, a positive rush, of having purpose! You are in business!!!! No more sitting around feeling blase! No more sitting around hearing some multimillionaire politician telling you how evil all the other multi millionaire politicians are!!!! Ok you are home now, what to do. You need a place to sell these items. Write out your inventory list! Keep one nice bag for yourself! Take photo's of each bag or pair of shoes with your smartphone... Ok, you have decided to go to a local flea market and market your items on a stand at the flea market. Consider your markup -buyers want a deal, yet they almost always buy buy on impulse. You paid $3 for each item so say you mark up each item to $6... Bake some brownies or cookies or better yet buy some cookies and have them out on your flea market table along with your items Remember people almost always buy on impulse! Good luck!

When you are on unemployment your job is to do nothing! Don't sweat it!

We constantly hear there are millions unemployed. Countless resumes sent or interviews. No responses. Fruitless leads. The real reality is for many just to give up on the job search and collect the money. Everyone I knew on unemployment here in NC (past tense since it has ended for most) was either making money under the table doing something else or just sitting around....one friend had a stack of lottery tickets on the floorboard of his car. A girlfriend every once and a while would go on a interview, then diss it immediately....well, more time for lovemaking....!!! The real reality collecting unemployment feels like a job, except what you do for this job, is nothing!!!!! And of course the politicians demagogue the topic to death! Evil Republicans!! Don't feel bad if you do your job well, if on unemployment, and that job is essentially doing nothing! Don't get me wrong, many are busting tail looking, sending resumes. My take is, why be dependent? Create your own job!!!! How many companies have started in a garage or dorm room???
